Leaves 3–5, 100–150 × 2–3 mm, straight. Flower stem 200–600 mm, 1–5-flowered. Flowers 30–35 mm across, bright yellow with red-brown callus outline. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 12–16 × 7–9 mm. Lateral sepals obliquely deflexed below labellum, 18–24 × 4–5 mm. Petals obliquely erect; stalk 6–8 mm long, blackish; blade 11–16 × 8–11 mm. Labellum 12–18 mm long; lateral lobes 6–10 × 4–7 mm; midlobe flat, broadly ovate, 10–15 × 10–13 mm. Callus ridges 2, 6–8 mm long, parallel.

Environment

Highly localised in coastal areas; growing in small colonies among low shrubs in white sand on moist flats between stabilised sand dunes. At the western end of its range it can be found in wet, peaty loam in Melaleuca swamps.
