Characteristics

Leaves 1–3, 100–250 × 8–10 mm, folded. Flower stem 100–350 mm, 1–7-flowered. Flowers 20–30 mm across, yellow with mauve to purplish hues and stains; central part of flower light to dark purple and mauve with some yellowish suffusions, petals often yellowish brown, lateral sepals green. Dorsal sepal erect, 10–12 × 10–12 mm, with a yellow basal blotch. Lateral sepals deflexed, 16–22 × 3–4 mm. Petals obliquely erect; stalk 4–6 mm long; blade elliptical, 11–16 × 7–9 mm. Labellum 6–9 mm long; lateral lobes spreading widely, 6–8 × 3–4.5 mm; midlobe convex, margins strongly downcurved, narrowly wedge-shaped when flattened, 6–8 × 4–5.5 mm, tip decurved. Callus ridge 1, 2–4 mm long, yellow.

Relatively widespread and locally common; growing in small vegetative colonies among shrubs in jarrah forest, karri forest, coastal heath and on granite outcrops in freely draining sands and moisture-retentive loam.
