Characteristics

Leaves 2 or 3, 120–220 × 18–24 mm, folded. Flower stem 300–600 mm, 3–9-flowered. Flowers 35–50 mm across, bright yellow, brown and purple; petals yellow to golden-yellow, dorsal sepal and labellum lateral lobes yellow to orange, midlobe mauve-purple. Dorsal sepal erect, 12–17 × 10–16 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed, 16–26 × 2.5–3 mm. Petals erect, often crowded and overlapping; stalk 4–6 mm long, purplish; blade ovate to elliptical, 20–30 × 12–14 mm. Labellum 13–18 mm long; lateral lobes spreading to incurved, 10–16 × 5–8 mm, margins often notched; midlobe flat or nearly so, broadly wedge-shaped when flattened, 8–14 × 9–15 mm, tip decurved. Callus ridge 1, 2–3 mm long, yellow surrounded by purple.
