Characteristics

(From R.D. Fitzgerald’s plate and accompanying table) Leaves 2, linear, 100–150 × 3–4 mm, straight. Flower stem 200–250 mm tall, 4–5-flowered. Flowers porrect, c. 20 mm across, lilac with darker striations on labellum midlobe. Dorsal sepal porrect and column-embracing at base then recurved and erect, c. 10 × 5 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed, parallel or crossed, green, c. 20 × 2 mm. Petals spreading, widely divergent, c. 15 mm long; stalk 5–6 mm long, distinct from blade; blade ovate, c. 10 × 4–5 mm, lilac. Labellum c. 10 mm long; lateral lobes c. 4 × 1.5 mm, recurved, acute; midlobe broadly spathulate/cordate, c. 6 × 5 mm, lilac, central ridge running along most of midlobe, with c. 10 pairs of curved darker lines radiating out from central ridge to margins, margins entire, apex acute. Callus ridges 2, c. 2 mm long, curved, strongly raised, smooth (not papillate), tips acute.
