Characteristics

Leaves 1–3, 200–300 × 3–4 mm, folded. Flower stem 200–500 mm, 2–6-flowered. Flowers 25–30 mm across, yellow to orange speckled with red, purple and white markings. Dorsal sepal obliquely erect, 10–15 × 6–9 mm. Lateral sepals deflexed or dangling, 20–65 × 0.2–0.3 mm. Petals obliquely erect or recurved; stalk 3–7 mm long, reddish purple; blade elliptical, 10–14 × 6–10 mm. Labellum 8–12 mm long; lateral lobes 3–4.5 × 1.5–2.5 mm; midlobe ovate, 6–9 × 6–9 mm, ridged. Callus ridges 2, 4–4.5 mm long, curved.

Widespread and often locally common, mostly occurring on plains and western slopes of ranges.
