Perennial procumbent herb with ascending flowering stems. Leaves paired, petiolate; stipules ± triangular, basally joining the petioles to form a very short sheath, apically very shortly lobed. Calyx-tube linear-fusiform; lobes 5, linear-oblong or slightly spathulate, equal or very nearly so, with sessile colleters between the lobes. Corolla-tube narrowly funnel-shaped; lobes 5, narrowly triangular-or oblong-lanceolate. Stamens included, the filaments long or short. Ovary 2-locular; ovules ± 18, attached uniseriately to elongate-fusiform centrally attached placentas; style included, long or short; stigma bifid, the lobes cylindrical-filiform, just exserted in the long-styled form.
