Erect herb 35 cm. tall.. Stems subglabrous or adpressed pubescent.. Leaflets 3, lanceolate, 5–7 cm. long, 1–1·7 cm. wide, acute, subsericeous when young, later adpressed puberulous, not fully developed in the specimen described by Harms and probably appearing after flowering has commenced; petiole 6–8 cm. long; rhachis 1·5–1·7 cm. long.. Flowers usually several in each axil; pedicel slender, 8–11 mm. long, puberulous.. Calyx 6 mm. long; lowest tooth lanceolate, longer than the rest, shorter than the tube, lateral teeth deltoid-ovate, upper pair united to form a shortly emarginate lip.. Corolla violet; standard oblong-ovate, 1·7 cm. long.. Ovary sericeous.
