Procumbent but closely matted, dark green, closely pinnate stems, rooting occasionally, the larger stems sprinkled with paraphyllia; branches numerous, short, distichously arranged; stem leaves subcompressed, shortly ovate-acuminate from a wide clasping base, 1 mm long, somewhat concave below, nerveless or almost so; branch leaves about as long but narrower and falcate, clearly in two series on the upper surface and folding under, with longer subula, and making branch-tips uncinate; margin almost entire; cells narrowly vermicular, smooth, about 70 x 7 µ, lower cells shorter and blunter, the lowest still shorter and wider, but not making an alar group, sometimes with one to two large lax cells below this, perhaps belonging to the stem.
