Characteristics

Rhizome 2 mm ø, creeping; fronds ½-2 cm apart; scales dark brown, glossy, rigid, entire, to 3 by 2/3 mm, narrowly acuminate; phyllopodia 1 cm long. Sterile frond: stipe slender, pale, 3-8 cm long; lamina thinly coriaceous, 12 by 2.5-3 cm, widest at middle, base ± decurrent, apex gradually narrowed to a ± broadly rounded tip; pale thin edge distinct; veins not prominent, sometimes distinct; costa slightly prominent beneath; surfaces glabrescent. Fertile frond: stipe 9-14 cm; lamina probably to 9 by 1.5 cm (larger frond broken), apex narrowly rounded, base a little decurrent.
