Leaves alternate; nanophylls absent; stipules lanceolate-linear or triangular, 4-7 × 1.6-3.2 mm, with cystoliths; petiole 0-3 mm; leaf blade obliquely obovate-elliptic or elliptic, 3.5-8.5 × 1.5-3.5 cm, papery, major basal lateral veins both arising at base of leaf blade, cystoliths conspicuous, dense; base with broader half auriculate, margin denticulate, apex caudate or caudate-acuminate. Male inflorescences solitary, simple, 4-7 mm in diam.; peduncle 2-3 mm; receptacle elliptic, 3.5-6 mm; bracts connate, ca. 1.2 mm; bracteoles oblong. Female inflorescences solitary, ca. 3 mm in diam.; peduncle 0.5-1 mm; receptacle elliptic, ca. 2 mm; bracts broadly ovate; bracteoles obovate-oblong or linear. Male flowers 4-merous. Fl. Mar-Jun.
