Leaves alternate; nanophylls absent; stipules linear-lanceolate, ca. 9 × 2.5 mm, nearly glabrous, with cystoliths; petiole 0-2.5 mm; leaf blade obliquely elliptic, 7-12 × 3.5-4.5 cm, herbaceous, major basal lateral veins asymmetric, 1 basal, the other arising above base, abaxial surface puberulent along nerves, adaxial surface sparsely puberulent, cystoliths conspicuous, dense; base with broader half rounded, margin dentate, apex caudate. Male inflorescences solitary, simple, 7-13 mm in diam.; peduncle 80-125 mm, puberulent; receptacle elliptic, ca. 12 × 6 mm; bracts connate, 0.5-1 mm; bracteoles cymbiform-linear or linear. Female inflorescences solitary, 5-6 mm in diam.; peduncle 0.5-1 mm; receptacle elliptic, ca. 4 × 2.5 mm; bracts triangular; bracteoles linear or narrowly oblanceolate. Male flowers 4-merous. Achenes ellipsoid. Fl. Mar-Aug.
