Capitula solitary, rarely in pairs, discoid; stalk slender, dull purple-brown, almost glabrous; involucre cylindrical, 5–6 mm long, ± 4 mm in diameter; phyllaries 8–9, green at base, purplish distally, almost glabrous, 5–6 mm long.. Disc florets purple-mauve, anthers purple, style mauve with white arms, corolla 5.5–6 mm long, lobes 1.5 mm long.. Achenes 1.7–2 mm long, glabrous; pappus 2.5–4 mm long.
