Leaves sessile, the basal oblanceolate-spatulate, 6–11 cm long, 1.5–3 cm wide, base attenuate into a pseudopetiole, apex acute; stem leaves lanceolate to oblong, base auriculate with dentate margins and semi-amplexicaul, apex acute to acuminate, glabrous above, puberulous to glabrous beneath.. Capitula 2–4, eventually long-stalked, discoid, many-flowered; involucre 6–10 mm long, 2.5 mm in diameter, glabrous; phyllaries 8–13, 6–10 mm long, with black papillose apex.. Disc florets yellow to bright orange, corolla 7.5–10 mm long, lobes 1–2 mm long.. Achenes 1.5–3 mm long, hairy; pappus 3.5–6 mm long.
