Erect perennial herb 30–60 cm tall; stems virgate, glabrous or sparsely pubescent.. Leaves sessile, ± crowded, linear to oblanceolate, 2.5–7.5 cm long, 0.1–0.4 cm wide, base attenuate, remotely sinuate-denticulate or sinuate-dentate, revolute at least when dry, apex obtuse to acute, apiculate, glabrous or pubescent.. Capitula solitary, radiate, long-stalked; stalks of the individual capitula glabrous; involucre cylindrical, 5–7 mm long, 3–4 mm in diameter; phyllaries 10–13, glabrous, 4.5–6.5 mm long.. Florets bright yellow.. Ray florets 13–14, tube 4.3–5 mm long, hairy at the apex, rays yellow, 4–4.7 x 1.5–1.8 mm, 4-veined; disc florets 5.2–8.5 mm long, tube glabrous, lobes 0.5–0.7 mm long.. Achenes 3.2–3.7 mm long, hairy; pappus 5–7 mm long.
