Characteristics

Tree to 30 m high. Stipules lanceolate-triangular, 0.8–3.5 mm long. Leaves: petiole 2.5–28 cm long, biglandular at top; lamina peltate or not, ovate, 8–31 cm long, 10–30 cm wide, cordate, truncate or rarely rounded at base, acute, acuminate or rarely rounded at apex, palmately 8-or 9-veined at base, lateral veins 4 or 5 per side of midrib. Male flowers: pedicels 0.3–0.8 mm long; calyx lobes 5, truncate, c. 0.5 mm long, 0.8 mm wide; stamens 5, filaments c. 0.2 mm long; anthers 0.6–0.8 mm wide. Female flowers: pedicels 0.8–2 mm long; calyx lobes 5, truncate, 0.4–0.5 mm long, 0.8–1.2 mm wide; ovary 1.5–2 mm long, 1–1.5 mm wide; stigmas 0.8–1 mm wide. Fruit subglobose, 6–8 mm long, 5.5–6 mm wide.
