Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf soft shrublet 0.2-0.5 m tall, woody below and freely branched; stems ascending, villous. Leaves shortly petiolate; blade oblanceolate to obovate, 20-28 x 5-12 mm, upper surface thinly pubescent, under-surface more densely to appressed grey-villous and freely gland-dotted, apex rounded, base cuneate, margin obscurely crenulate, occasionally revolute. Racemes semi-lax, 50-90 mm long, of several to many fairly closely placed verticils; verticils usually 6-flowered; bracts leaf-like, 8-15 mm long. Calyx subglabrous to hispid, 5-6 mm long at maturity; tube tubular; lateral teeth oblong, as long as the lower subulate pair. Corolla mauve to purple, 5 mm long.
