Characteristics

Leaf immature at flowering, maturing after flowering, held obliquely erect on flower stem well above ground level; mature leaf narrowly ovate to broadly ovate, 15–45 × 5–15 mm, dark green, sometimes red beneath, glabrous, margins entire, apex acute. Flower stem 200–450 mm long, green, wiry, glabrous or hairy, 1–20-flowered. Flowers 10–15 × 10–12 mm, greenish or cream with reddish markings and white lateral sepals. Dorsal sepal obovate to spathulate, 8–10 × 2.5–3.5 mm. Lateral sepals 10–15 × 2–4 mm, basal stalk c. 3 mm long, apex shortly pointed. Petals erect or incurved away from column, 6–9 × 1 mm. Labellum greenish to cream with red spots and a pale central band, 8–10 × 2.5–4.5 mm when flattened; midlobe ovate to elliptic, 4.5–5.5 × 2.5–4.5 mm, fleshy, with separate tufts of red and white bristles. Column 7.5–8.5 × 2.5–3 mm with a greenish anther.
