Characteristics

Leaf well-developed at flowering, ground-hugging, when mature ovate, 8–16 × 7–12 mm, dark green above (sometimes with red suffusions), reddish purple beneath, usually glabrous but sometimes sparsely hairy, veins prominent, apex sharply pointed. Flower stem 40–120 mm long, thin, 1–3-flowered. Flowers 8–10 × 6–12 mm, dorsal sepal and petals greenish to reddish with white tips, lateral sepals white, labellum whitish with clusters of red and white bristles. Dorsal sepal spathulate, 5–8 × 1.8–2.3 mm, often with red margins and red apex. Lateral sepals 9–12 × 2.5–3.5 mm, basal stalk c. 2 mm long. Petals 5–7 × 0.6 mm, tips incurved or curled back. Labellum 5–6.5 × 2 mm when flattened; midlobe ovate, 2–3 × 2 mm, fleshy. Column 5.5–6.5 × 2 mm with a reddish anther.
