Characteristics

Perennial, dwarf shrub, 0.4-0.6 m; villous-tomentose. Leaves elliptic to obovate-elliptic, up to 60 x 40 mm, base ± rounded, margins entire; densely villous-tomentose; stipule subulate-lanceolate, persistent, 7 mm long. Inflorescence: axillary cymes; peduncle up to 30 mm long, densely pilose. Calyx: lobes linear, 5-6 mm long, villous. Corolla green, villous; tube 3-5 mm long. Stamens 5(6), arising in corolla mouth, exserted; filaments linear, ± as long as anthers; anthers oblong. Disc annular, pilose. Ovary 2-locular, with a single pendulous ovule in each locule; style fusiform, stigma oblong-globose, 2-lobed, 1 mm long. Flowering time Oct.-Dec. Fruit globose, tipped with persistent calyx.
