Characteristics

Tree to 30 m. Bark fibrous throughout, grey. Juvenile leaves ovate, blue-green. Adult leaves lanceolate, acuminate, often oblique; lamina 8–14 cm long, 1–2.5 cm wide, green; lateral veins distinct, at 15°–25°; intramarginal vein up to 3 mm from margin; petiole flattened or channelled, 12–16 mm long. Umbels 11–15-flowered; peduncle angular or flattened, 5–14 mm long; pedicels 4–6 mm long. Operculum hemispherical, apiculate, 1–2 mm long, 3–4 mm wide; hypanthium campanulate, 3–5 mm long, 3–4 mm wide. Fruits obconical or pyriform, 5–10 mm long, 6–8 mm wide; disc level or convex; valves usually 4, level or slightly exserted. Seeds brown-black.
