Characteristics

Tree to 45 m with rough furrowed bark on trunk and main branches, shedding in long strips above so that upper branches are smooth and white.. Juvenile leaves broadly lanceolate to ovate, oblique; adult lanceolate, 8–15 cm long, 1.5–2.7 cm wide, [with very open oblique venation]; petiole flattened or channelled, 1–1.5 cm long.. Umbels 11–15-flowered, often paired in leaf axils; peduncle terete or angular, 0.4–1.4 cm long; pedicels 1–2[3–5] mm long.. Buds clavate; operculum conical or rostrate, ± 2 mm long, ± 3 mm wide.. Calyx-tube obconic, ± 2 mm long, 3 mm wide.. Fruits obconical to pyriform, 5–8 mm long, 4–7 mm wide, with broad, level or slightly ascending disc and 3 flush or slightly exserted valves..
