Characteristics

Tree to 14 m. Bark smooth throughout, white to grey or grey-brown. Juvenile leaves not known. Adult leaves lanceolate, acuminate, thick; lamina 9.5–14.5 cm long, 1.2–2.8 cm wide, shining, yellow-green; lateral veins faint to just visible, at 30°–40°; intramarginal vein up to 1 mm from margin; petiole terete, 15–20 mm long. Umbels 3–5-or rarely 7-flowered; peduncle flattened, 10–13 mm long; pedicels 5–10 mm long. Buds broadly fusiform, rostrate, deeply ribbed or winged; operculum conical, rostrate, 7–12 mm long and wide; hypanthium obconical, 6–8 mm long, 7–12 mm wide. Fruits obconical to hemispherical, corrugated, 12–15 mm long, 13–16 mm wide; valves 3–5, just included to just exserted.
