Characteristics

Mallee to 2 m, occasionally to 3 m. Juvenile leaves broadly elliptic, green. Adult leaves broadly lanceolate or elliptic, apiculate; lamina 13–18 cm long, 4–7 cm wide, bright green; lateral veins visible, at 50°–60°; intramarginal vein up to 4 mm from margin; petiole flattened, 20–40 mm long. Umbels 1-flowered; peduncle broadly flattened, twisted, recurved, 5–15 mm long; pedicels absent. Buds quadrangular with four fleshy wings; operculum conical or pyramidal, 12–20 mm long, 15–18 mm wide; hypanthium quadrangular, winged, 30–35 mm long and wide. Fruits quadrangular, winged, 40–50 mm long, 35–50 mm wide; valves 4.
