Geophytic perennial, stems slender, up to 0.25 m long, resprouting from large woody rootstock. Leaves usually simple and sessile below, but occasionally 3-foliolate on upper parts, softly hairy. Flowers many, clustered on a ± long slender peduncle, yellow, veined brownish purple on standard, calyx lobes ± equal. Pod oblong, large, strongly inflated laterally, upper suture warty.
