Characteristics

Subshrubs, moundlike to spindle-shaped (wider than tall), branches decumbent. Leaves: blade lobed. Pedicels (fruiting) to 10 cm, recurved. Flowers radially symmetric or slightly bilaterally symmetric through orientation of style; corolla rotate, petals connate 3 mm, 1-colored, yellow, spatulate, to 40 mm; stamens 50–120, inserted at base of corolla, exserted, spreading away from style; filaments 7–16 mm, longer than anthers. 2n = 42.
