Characteristics

Lip 7–5 × 1.5–2 mm, entire, oblanceolate, obtuse or rounded, the edges undulate; callus of 5–7 ridges, rugulose in apical half of lip, smooth towards the base; spur 4–5 mm long, cylindrical, deflexed.

Perennating organs mostly above ground, pseudobulbous, 3–10 × 1–2 cm, conical, forming a chain, green or reddish-brown, heavily wrinkled; roots fleshy, 3–5 mm in diameter.
Inflorescence arising from upper nodes of pseudobulb, paniculate, with 1–4 branches, laxly many-flowered; scape stout, with several loose, papery bracts 12–15 mm long.
Leaves 7–11, distichous, to 40 cm × 6–8 mm, recurved, coriaceous, tapering to become linear from a broad, sheathing base, absent at flowering time.
Flowers not opening wide, rather drably coloured, olive-brown or dull yellow-green, the lip greenish-white with brown veins.
Pedicel 9–10 mm long, ovary c. 5 mm, swelling very rapidly.
Sepals 8–10 × 1–2 mm, linear to oblanceolate, acute.
Bracts 2–16 mm long, linear, acuminate.
Petals 6–8 × 1–2 mm, linear, acute.
Column 4–5 mm long; foot 1 mm long.
Terrestrial herb up to 50 cm tall.
