Characteristics

Plants with subterranean, moniliformous rhizomes; leaves rather coriaceous, scarcely to partly developed at anthesis, reaching 300 x 16 mm; flowering stem 160-370 mm tall. Inflorescences dense to lax, 6-18-flowered. Flowers often unre-supinate at anthesis, perianth subcampanulate, sepals pale straw-yellow tinged green, petals straw-yellow, lip straw-yellow tinged purple, crests bright yellow. Median sepal (17-) 19-26 (-29) mm long, lanceolate to lanceolate-oblong, acute; lateral sepals similar. Petals as long as to a little shorter than the median sepal, narrowly ovate to lanceolate. Lip 3-lobed, crests consisting of 3-7 low undulate ridges in the basal third, distally becoming verrucose and with a few stout papillae less than 0.5 mm high, terminating about half-way along the midlobe; side lobes fused to the distal V2-V3 of the mentum; mentum 2-5 mm long; spur subcylindrical, 1.2-2.2 mm long. Gynostemium 7-8 mm long.
