Leaves 3–5, erect, lanceolate, acuminate, 30–70 cm. long, 3.8–8 cm. wide.. Inflorescence produced before the leaves, densely many-flowered; peduncle stout, 1–1.8 cm. diameter at base, bearing 4–5 loose obtuse sheaths along length; rhachis 11–21 cm. long; bracts elliptic, acute or acuminate, 30–55 mm. long, 16–40 mm. wide, yellowish to greenish purple..
