Characteristics

Lip 8–9 × 3–4 mm, concave, 3-lobed in the apical half; side lobes erect, acute; mid-lobe 3 × 2.5 mm, oblong, acute, the margins undulate, covered with yellow papillae; spur 5–6 mm long, very slender, straight, parallel to the ovary.

Flowers drooping, not opening wide; sepals dull purple or brownish-purple; petals greenish or greenish-yellow; lip cream, purple round the margin and with yellow papillae.
Perennating organs subterranean, tuberous, c. 3 × 2 cm wide; roots short, 15 mm long, 2 mm in diameter, emerging from the tuber.
Pedicel and ovary 8–12 mm long, the ovary starting to swell before the flowers have withered.
