Lip (5)6–7 × 5–7.5 mm, 3-lobed, with a callus of 5–9 fleshy, rugulose crests reaching the basal half of the mid-lobe; side lobes ± triangular, adnate to column for half their length; mid-lobe 4–5 × 3.5–4.5 mm, convex, elliptic, the edge undulate; spur conical, 1.5–3 mm.
Perennating organs subterranean, tuberous, 1–3 cm long, 1–2.5 cm in diameter, forming chains; roots 2–3 mm in diameter, white.
Sepals (4.6)5–7.5 × 2.5–3.5 mm, oblong-elliptic, obtuse; petals (4.5)6–8 × 4–5.6 mm, oblong-elliptic, obtuse.
Leaves 4–5, the lowest sheathing, up to 14 cm × 2–2.5 mm, linear, coriaceous, absent at flowering time.
Flowers purple-brown, the lip yellow or cream with purplish stripes and a yellow callus.
Bracts 3–9 mm long, linear, acuminate.
Inflorescence laxly many-flowered.
Pedicel and ovary 10–20 mm long.
Terrestrial herb 13–45 cm tall.
Column 1.5–2.5 mm long.
