An erect, copiously branching, rather compact shrublet with straight, short and rather slender branches, glabrous except for some tomentum in the leaf-axils. Branches 2-4 together at each ramification, closely leafy; internodes usually only 1-3 cm long or even less, but occasionally up to c. 5 cm; older branches becoming nude. Leaves imbricated, closely appressed or sometimes erecto-patent, entire, straight, subulate, tapering to a fine point from a somewhat dilated, 0.5-0.8 mm wide base, 1.5-5 mm long, around the middle c. 0.2 mm thick and usually ± terete, but sometimes with narrow lateral edges; often with arachnoid tomentum in the leaf-axils. Peduncles terminal from the uppermost branch tips and ramifications, solitary, erect, slender, 8-17 cm long, 0.3-0.6 mm thick, terete, smooth or faintly striate. Involucre widely campanulate, c. 5-8 mm in diam. Involucral bracts uniseriate, 9-13, connate to 1/3-1/2, 3-5 mm long, 1-3-lined, often membrane-edged; free lobes ovate-lanceolate, puberulous-tipped. Receptacle alveolate, convex, becoming subconical. Ray-florets 11-13, yellow. Tube 1-1.5 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina elliptic-oblong-lorate, 5-8 mm long, 1.8-3 mm wide, 4-veined. Style terete, much longer than the tube; style branches 0.6-1 mm long. Disc-florets c. 25-40. Corolla 2.7-3 mm long. Tube c. 1 mm long, cylindrical. Limb campanulate, 1.7-2 mm long; lobes ovate, c. 0.8 mm long. Anthers c. 1 mm long incl. the ovate appendage. Style terete; style branches 0.6-0.8 mm long with shortly conical tips. Pappus 0. Achenes oblong-obovate-pyriform, 1.5-1.7 mm long, 0.8-1 mm wide, with 8-10 longitudinal ridges, light brownish, densely and minutely puberulous with rather long and thin papillae.
