An erect branching shrub, 0.5-1.5 m high, glabrous in all parts. Younger branches closely leafy; older branches nude and marked with leaf-scars. Leaves erecto-patent-spreading, 1-3 cm long, 3-forked from the middle (sometimes below and sometimes above the middle), occasionally some entire or 2-forked, rarely a few leaves 4-5-partite; leaf-lobes linear, 0.5-1.5 cm long, 0.7-1.5 mm wide, flat or flattened, seldom subterete, subacute or sometimes almost obtuse, narrowly mid-veined esp. on the adaxial side. Peduncles terminal, solitary or a few together, erect, 1-5 cm long, 0.7-1 mm thick, distinctly striate. Involucre widely campanulate to expanded and almost flat, 1-2 cm in diam. Involucral bracts subbiseriate-subuniseriate, 8-13, basally connate (to 1/5-1/3); free lobes lanceolate-ovate, of various shape within the involucre, the outer narrower with glabrous margins, the inner broader with thinner puberulous margins, 3-6 mm long, 1-4 mm wide, thickish and coriaceous, indistinctly many-veined or without distinct veins; tips obtuse, puberulous. Receptacle convex-conical, alveolate. Ray-florets 10-15, yellow. Tube cylindrical, 1-3 mm long. Lamina narrowly oblong-linear, 12-22 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, 4-5-veined. Style terete; style branches 0.8-1.2 mm long. Disc-florets c. 25-75. Corolla 3.5-5 mm long. Tube cylindrical, 1-1.8 mm long. Limb narrowly campanulate, 2.5-3.2 mm long; lobes lanceolate, 1.2-1.6 mm long. Anthers 1.7-2 mm long incl. the narrowly ovate acute appendage. Style terete; style branches 0.5-1 mm long, with bluntly conical tips. Pappus 0. Achenes narrowly oblong-obovate to almost fusiform or narrowly pyriform, 3-4 mm long, 1-1.5 mm wide, dark brown, glabrous, with c. 10 distinct, light brown, longitudinal ribs.
