Rather lax and wide shrubs, up to 1.2 m high, repeatedly branching from the base, glabrous except for some deciduous wool in the upper leaf-axils; branches straight and erect, often subdivaricate, sometimes ascending, closely leafy towards the ends, lower down nude and rough with leaf-scars. Leaves closely set, often imbricated, suberect-erecto-patent, spathulate-obovate-oblanceolate, 3-17 mm long, 2.5-8 mm wide, entire, flattened, fleshy, rugulose, bright green, faintly midveined, with obtuse-rounded or truncate tips, sometimes indistinctly and bluntly apicu-late; young leaves with a deciduous lax tomentum in the axils. Peduncles lateral in the upper leaf-axils, usually few on each branch, 0.5-3.5 cm long, 0.3-0.5 mm thick, striate, with a lax tuft of wool surrounding the base and sometimes also two lateral rudimentary subulate leaves. Involucre hemispherical, c. 5-8 mm in diam. Involucral bracts 5-9, uniseriate or nearly so, connate to 1/4-1/3, ovate-oblong, 2.5-5 mm long, 1-2.5 mm wide, 3-7-veined, obtuse, puberulous-tipped. Receptacle slightly convex, alveolate. Ray-florets 5-8, yellow. Tube 0.8-1.5 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina elliptic-oblong-narrowly oblong, 2.5-6 mm long, 1.5-3 mm wide, 4(-5)-veined. Style branches 0.5-1.2 mm long, obtuse. Disc-florets c. 15-30. Corolla 3-4.3 mm long. Tube 1-1.8 mm long, cylindrical. Limb (narrowly) campanulate, 2-2.5 mm long, lobes deltoid-ovate, 0.5-1 mm long. Anthers 1.2-1.8 mm long incl. the ovate obtuse appendage. Style terete with slightly swollen base on a short stylophore; style branches 0.4-0.8 mm long, with truncate-slightly convex tips. Pappus bristles numerous, 1-2 mm long, white, erect. Achenes oblong-obovate, often somewhat compressed or triquetrous, 2.8-3.5 mm long, 1-1.7 mm wide, densely and rather shortly white-villous, mucilaginous when soaked, under the indumentum light brown-honey-coloured and with c. 5 faint ribs.
