Characteristics

An erect glabrous shrublet, branching di-or trichotomously. Leaves imbricated, narrowly oblong, 3-5 mm long, 0.6-1 mm wide, curved inwards from an erecto-patent base, with gibbous abaxial side, laterally somewhat compressed and (faintly) sulcate, thick and coriaceous, bright green, obtuse, minutely and bluntly apiculate; leaf-base flattened and dilated, almost half-clasping. Peduncles terminal, solitary, erect, 5-9 cm long, 0.7-1 mm thick, terete, smooth or faintly striate. Involucre widely campanulate, 7-10 mm wide. Involucral bracts uniseriate, 11-13, connate to 1/4-1/3, lanceolate-narrowly ovate, 4-5 mm long, (0.5-)1-1.5(-2) mm wide, faintly 1-3-striate, somewhat gibbous towards the base, minutely puberulous-tipped, acute-acuminate, the broader ones more subacute. Receptacle hemispherical, shallowly alveolate. Ray-florets c. 8-11, yellow. Tube cylindrical, 1-1.5 mm long. Lamina oblong-narrowly oblong, 9-11 mm long, 3-4 mm wide, 4-veined. Style terete or flattened; style branches c. 0.5-0.7 mm long, flattened, with rounded tips. Disc-florets c. 30-50. Corolla 3.5-4 mm long. Tube cylindrical, 1-1.2 mm long. Limb narrowly campanulate, 2.5-2.8 mm long; lobes deltoid-ovate, 0.7-0.8 mm long. Anthers 1.5-1.7 mm long incl. the ovate obtuse appendage. Style terete with swollen base and a short stylophore; style branches c. 0.5 mm long, with convex-almost conical tips. Pappus 0. Achenes narrowly oblong-elliptic-oblong, c. 2 mm long, 0.6-0.8 mm wide, brown, glabrous, papillate, faintly ridged.
