Leaves suberect-erecto-patent or rarely spreading, filiform-linear, 1-11 cm long, three-lobed or pinnatipartite with up to 4 pairs of lobes or sometimes entire, midribbed or without distinct nerves, herbaceous, glabrous, flat or thickish and subterete, green; leaf segments 0.3-2.5(-4) mm wide; leaf lobes up to 3.5 cm long, erecto-patent-spreading, acute-subacute, seldom obtuse and minutely apiculate with a truncate point. Peduncles terminal, solitary at the branch tips and ramifications, erect, 5-26 cm long, 0.5-2 mm thick, many striate, glabrous. Involucre hemispherical to widely campanulate, 0.8-2 cm in diam., glabrous, green or light brown to straw-coloured. Involucral bracts uniseriate, 11-17, connate to about the middle or slightly more, 4-10 mm long, herbaceous to somewhat coriaceous; the free lobes deltoid to narrowly ovate (to lanceolate), 2-4 mm long, (0.6-)1-3 mm wide, distinctly or faintly 3 to many-veined, acute or acuminate with ciliate or puberulous tips. Receptacle flat or slightly convex, distinctly alveolate; pit-margins raised, fimbrillate-denticulate or with elongate setiform lobes sometimes equaling the ovaries in length. Ray florets 8-17, yellow. Tube 1-3.5 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina lorate or oblanceolate to narrowly elliptic-oblong, 8-16 mm long, 2-4 mm wide, 4-7-veined. Style terete with slightly swollen base; style branches 0.5-1 mm long with truncate to rounded tips. Staminodes sometimes present, filiform. Disc florets c. 25-70. Corolla 3-5.5 mm long.
