A much-branched erect shrub up to 2 m high. Younger branches arachnose-floccose, closely leafy, becoming glabrous, nude and marked with leaf-scars with age. Leaves ± spreading, narrowly linear, 1-5 cm long, 0.6-1 mm wide, flattened, glabrous, green, faintly and finely impressed-veined on the adaxial side, acute-acuminate with subpungent tips. Peduncles lateral in the upper leaf-axils in a corymb-like arrangement, 1-7 cm long, 0.3-0.6 mm thick, somewhat thickened below the involucres (sometimes much thickened, due to insect gall?), glabrous green, terete or somewhat striate-sulcate. Involucre campanulate or cyathiform, 3-7 mm wide, 3-6 mm high, glabrous. Involucral bracts 6-10(-13), subuniseriate, connate to 1/2-2/3, coriaceous and rather firm, ± distinctly1-3-nerved, green or somewhat brownish or greyish; the free lobes detailed-ovate, 1.5-3.5 mm long, 1.5-3 mm wide, with slightly overlapping margins, puberulous-tipped. Receptacle somewhat convex, alveolate with raised pit-margins. Ray-florets 5-8(-13), yellow. Tube 1.2-1.8 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina elliptic-oblong-oblanceolate, 5-7 mm long, 2.5-3.5 mm wide, 4-nerved. Style terete; style branches 0.5-0.8 mm long with obtuse tips. Disc-florets c. 12-35. Corolla 3-4 mm long. Limb campanulate, 1.8-2.2 mm long; lobes ovate, c. 1 mm long. Anthers 1-1.2 mm long incl. the ovate obtuse appendage. Style terete with swollen base; style branches 0.3-0.5 mm long with somewhat convex tips. Pappus bristles numerous, 1.5-2 mm long, white or somewhat brownish. Achenes narrowly obovate-elliptic-oblong, 1.8-2.5 mm long, 1-1.2 mm wide, glabrous, shiny brown, with 5-8 prominent thick ribs.
