Erect shrub up to 1 m high, glabrous (except for leaf-axils); main branches few, erect and stout, ± straight, with numerous lateral short branchlets and brachyblasts, closely leafy in the upper parts, lower down nude; cortex ash-grey, sulcate. Leaves closely set on the young branches and fascicled on brachyblasts, erecto-patent-spreading, 0.5-2.5 cm long, linear(-oblanceolate) or somewhat cuneate, tapering towards the base, flat, somewhat carnose, faintly midveined, trifid or some entire and some pinnati-partite with two pairs of lobes; leaf lobes erecto-patent, up to 7 mm long, 1-3 mm wide, obtuse-rounded at the apex, indistinctly apiculate; leaf-base dilated and somewhat decurrent, woolly in the axil. Peduncles numerous at the branch ends, erect-ascending, 2-6(-11) cm long, 0.2-0.5(-0.7) mm thick, terete, smooth or somewhat striate. Involucre hemispherical or somewhat cupshaped, 0.7-1.2 cm in diam. Involucral bracts subuniseriate, 7-14, basally connate, some ovate or Ovate-oblong and membrane-edged, some lanceolate or narrowly oblong, 4-6 mm long, 1-3 mm wide, with usually 3 distinct resiniferous veins, obtuse-acute or somewhat acuminate, puberulous-tipped. Receptacle convex, distinctly alveolate. Ray-florets 5-11, bright yellow. Tube 1-2 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina elliptic-oblong-(narrowly) oblong, 5-8 mm long, 1.8-3 mm wide, 4-veined. Style terete with swollen base; style branches 0.7-1.2 mm long, obtuse-truncate. Disc-florets c. 15-55. Corolla 3-3.5 mm long. Tube 1-1.5 mm long, cylindrical. Limb campanulate, 1.8-2 mm long; lobes ovate, 0.8-1 mm long. Anthers 1.2-1.5 mm long incl. the ovate obtuse appendage. Pollen grains 20-30 µ in diam. Style terete or somewhat flattened; base swollen; stylophore short; style branches 0.5-0.8 mm long, with truncate or slightly convex tips. Pappus bristles numerous, 1-2 mm long, erect, white. Achenes oblong-obovate, densely villous, 3-4 mm long and 1.5-2.5 mm wide incl. indumentum; hairs erecto-patent, ± straight, c. 0.5 mm long, white, mucilaginous when soaked.
