An erect much-branched shrub up to 1.2 m high, often fairly dense. Branches greyish-reddish brown, with a dense arachnose-floccose tomentum when young, closely leafy, becoming glabrous, nude and marked with leaf-scars lower down. Leaves closely set, ± spreading, completely entire, filiform, 1-5 cm long, 0.4-0.8 mm wide, subterete or slightly flattened, straight or somewhat curved upwards, dull green often with a brownish tinge, faintly midveined, glabrous except for a narrow woolly strip along the midvein on the adaxial side (esp. distinct on the young leaves), subacute-obtuse with a ± truncate point. Peduncles lateral in the upper leaf-axils in a corymb-like arrangement, filiform, slender, 2-6(-9) cm long, 0.3-0.6 mm thick, glabrous, yellowish green or often straw-coloured or somewhat brownish, terete or striate-sulcate. Involucre hemispherical, 5-8 mm wide, 2-4 mm high. Involucral bracts 7-13, uniseriate, connate to 1/2-2/3, seldom free from the base, lanceolate-narrowly elliptic-oblong, 2.5-4 mm long, 1-1.5(-2) mm wide, mostly herbaceous and rather thin, indistinctly veined, greenish or reddish brown, glabrous except for the puberulous tips. Receptacle convex, distinctly alveolate with raised pit-margins. Ray-florets 5-13, yellow. Tube 1-2 mm long, cylindrical. Lamina narrowly elliptic-oblong or oblanceolate-elliptic or broadly oblong, 3.5-9 mm long, 1-3.5 mm wide. Style terete with swollen base; style branches 0.5-1 mm long, truncate-obtuse. Disc-florets c. 20-40. Corolla 2.5-3.8 mm long. Tube 1-1.5 mm long, cylindrical. Limb widely campanulate, 1.3-2.3 mm long; lobes deltoid-narrowly ovate, 0.7-1.2 mm long. Anthers 1-1.5 mm long incl. the ovate obtuse appendage. Style terete or flattened with swollen base; stylophore short; style branches 0.3-0.7 mm long with truncate or slightly convex tips. Pappus bristles numerous, 1-2 mm long, white. Achenes obovate-oblong, c. 2 mm long, 0.8-1.2 mm wide, with 5-8 prominent thick ribs, white-puberulous with short appressed papillae between the ribs (mucilaginous when soaked), otherwise shiny brown.

Closely leafy shrub to 1.2 m, densely cobwebby on young parts. Leaves spreading, filiform, terete or somewhat flattened, woolly on lower midline, 10-50 mm long. Flower heads radiate, on slender peduncles together forming loose umbels, yellow. Achenes white-puberulous, mucilaginous when wet.
