Closely leafy, resprouting shrublet to 80 cm. Leaves linear, in whorls of 4, 2-grooved below, spreading to recurved. Flowers minute, in compact, nodding, subglobose spikes, concealed by long, leafy bracts, white, calyx bilabiate, corolla hairy in throat.
