Characteristics

Plants slender, to 290 mm; leaves 5 to numerous, narrowly linear-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, to 90 x 6 mm. Inflorescences dense, to 120 mm long, with many showy medium-sized flowers; bracts ovate, subattenuate, about as long as the ovary. Flowers c. 15 x 15 mm, sepals green tinged maroon, petals rusty red to maroon, lip white tinged with maroon, lip appendage green; ovary c. 12 mm long. Median sepal narrowly lanceolate, subacute, 6-7.5 x 2-3 mm; lateral sepals spreading, obliquely ovate, acute, somewhat concave, 5-8 x 4-4.5 x 2 mm. Petals adnate to the median sepal, obdeltate, 5-7 x 5-6 mm, with a basal anticous lobe. Lip broadly deltate-hastate (broadest halfway along its length), 5-7 x 6-9 mm; lip appendage erect, 4-5 x 3 mm, apically 2-lobed. Stigmas c. 0.5 mm in diameter; rostellum c. 2 mm tall, arms c. 1.5 mm long.
