Leaves in whorls of 3; blades elliptic to oblong-obovate, 1.7–6 cm. long, 0.8–2.5 cm. wide, obtuse to bluntly acute or even slightly retuse at the apex, cuneate at the base, with dense grey pubescence above which does not hide the leaf-surface or only on venation, usually densely grey velvety beneath rendering the leaves markedly discolorous; lateral nerves 4–6; petioles 1.5–3.5 mm. long; stipules ± 1.5–2 mm. long.. Inflorescences 1–4-flowered; peduncle short, up to 2 mm. long; pedicels 2–6 mm. long, densely grey-pubescent, mostly reflexed in fruit.. Calyx-tube and limb together ±1.5 mm. long, pubescent; teeth triangular, 0.5–1 mm. long.. Buds rather densely pilose above, obtuse.. Corolla-tube greenish yellow or yellow, ± 3.5–6 mm. long, hairy outside near apex, with a ring of deflexed hairs inside; lobes bright yellow, narrowly oblong, spreading, ± 4–5 mm. long, 1.3–2 mm. wide, acute, densely hairy outside.. Ovary 3-locular; style 5–8 mm. long; stigmatic club green, coroniform, 2–3-lobed, the lobes 4–6-ribbed, the ribs with transverse grooves.. Fruits globose, 5–7 mm. diameter, those seen with only 1 pyrene developed, pubescent.
