Characteristics

Leaves in whorls of 3, concolorous, blades 1.2–3 × 0.5–0.9 cm, narrowly obovate (basal whorl) to oblanceolate or elliptic-oblanceolate, rounded to subacute at the apex, gradually narrowed to the base, appressed velvety grey pubescent on both sides so that surface is not visible save in lowest whorl when pubescence is sparser; lateral nerves in 3–4 pairs, obscure; petiole 2–3 mm long; stipules 1.5 mm long, acuminate.

Corolla yellow; tube 6 mm long, 2.5 mm wide, narrowed at both ends, glabrous save for pubescence near the apex; lobes 5 × 1.8 mm, narrowly lanceolate-triangular, spreading pubescent outside.
Suffrutescent herb 10–16 cm tall, with 3–4 slender hairy stems from a woody rootstock.
Anthers exserted 1.5 mm; style exserted 1 mm; pollen presenter 1.5 mm long, obconic.
Cymes 1–3-flowered, sessile; pedicels 3–4 mm long, grey pubescent.
Calyx densely pubescent; tube 2.5 mm long, very shortly toothed.
