Suffrutex 10–20 cm tall, with several stems from a woody rootstock; stems yellow, drying yellowish or reddish-brown, sometimes ± 3-angular, ridged, mostly covered with a short bristly pubescence, later glabrescent.
Flowers solitary, or in 2-flowered cymes; peduncles of solitary flowers up to 6 mm long; joint peduncles 2.5–3 mm long; pedicels 1–2 mm long; bracts 1–2 mm long, filiform.
Calyx tube 1–1.5 mm long, ovoid; limb-tube 0.5 mm long, the teeth 1–2 mm long, triangular to subulate, ± unequal, sometimes with additional ones between.
Corolla apiculate in bud; yellow, glabrous; tube 2–2.5 mm long, cylindrical; lobes 2.5–3 × 1.5–2 mm, ± triangular with a short appendage.
Fruit c. 10 mm in diameter (dry), ± globose, crowned by the calyx limb, glabrous, the stalk up to c. 10 mm long.
Pollen presenter coroniform, 1 mm long, sulcate, ± 3-lobulate at the apex.
Style 3–3.5 mm long.
Ovary ± 3-locular.
