Characteristics

Erect, woody, evergreen shrub, up to 3 m high; with long, straight branches. Leaves blue-green, up to 25 mm long, elliptic to linear-elliptic, rarely ovate, acute to acuminate, entire, often undulate. Flowers pink to pale mauve, rarely purple and white, tube usually darker than lobes; in dense, narrow, terminal racemes up to 150 mm long, sometimes in panicles. Corolla salverform; tube up to 18 mm long, narrowly funnel-shaped; lobes 5, ± equal, spreading to reflexed. Flowering time June-Nov., mostly Aug., Sept.
