Dioicous, rather large, on bark loosely attached to the substrate, olivaceous green-dark greenish brown, irregularly pinnate. Stem to 8 cm long, 160-225 µ in diameter. Leaves imbricate, lobe concave, apex rounded and usually incurved, median appendage broadly exceeding the stem, margin entire. Marginal cells 16-20 x 16-22 µ, central cells 20 x 20-36 µ, basal cells 22-26 x 40-60 µ, trigones distinct, sometimes intermediar thickenings of the waits. Lobule of varying shape, capuchin-shaped, generally wider than high, sometimes as high as wide, dorsal wall longer than the ventral, the taller frequently with an impression basally and an arcuate fold running out in the beak, the latter formed by the lateral corner of the mouth; frequently evolute. Stylus lanceolate, 90-160 µ long and 40-50 µ wide. Amphigastria large, 2-5 times wider than the stem, subrotund, bilobed to 1/4, somewhat decurrent or with small basal auricles. Androecia lateral and subsessile, ovoid or shortly cylindrical, with 4-6 pairs of bracts. Female organ apical in ± elongated branch, with one subfloral innovation. Female bracts with apex of the obtuse and incurved, lobule lanceolate, shorter than the lobe, apex acute. Bracteole with margin entire or with a few teeth, bilobed to 1/2 lobes triangular, acute, sinus acute. Perianth clavate, trigonous, plicate acute and winged, verrucose, rounded towards the apex, rostrum cylindric, 140-160 µ long.
