Characteristics

Closely related to G. lindblomii but straggling, though with stouter stems and with erect, gland-tipped hairs on the stems, leaf-rhachis and, especially, the inflorescence-rhachis.. Stipules broadly ovate, 6–7 mm. long, with 3–5 unequal, very acute, triangular or ovate teeth, the outermost of which is deflexed; leaf-rhachis up to 17 cm. long; leaflets 15–19, elliptic-ovate, up to 45 mm. long and 20 mm. wide, ending in a mucro 1 mm. long, sparsely pilose on the midrib beneath.. Racemes 18–25-flowered, up to 22 cm. long, including a peduncle of 5–7 cm.; pedicels up to 3 mm. long.. Standard 9–13 mm. long.. Ovary 4–6-ovulate; style nearly 3 mm. long.. Pod up to 35 mm. long, 8 mm. wide and 1–2 mm. thick, curved downwards near the tip, 3–5-seeded.. Seeds flat, elliptic, notched near one end, ± 4 mm. long by 2·5 mm. wide.. Fig. 148/10–12, p. 1053.
