Procumbent mat-forming herb (2–)7–60 cm. long; branches mostly short, 5–10 cm. long, glabrous or with a few scattered spreading hairs and with a ring of hairs at the nodes; plant smells of coumarin.. Leaves and stipules in whorls of 6; blades linear-lanceolate, 1.5–4 mm. long, 0.3–0.8 mm. wide, obtuse or subacute at the apex, narrowed to the base, broadest about the middle, glabrous or with a few hairs on the midnerve, the margins plane or slightly recurved.. Flowers 1–2 at the end of short lateral shoots; pedicels 0.5–2 mm. long in fruit.. Calyx-tube ± biglobose, 0.5 mm. long, 0.65–0.85 mm. wide, glabrous.. Corolla white or tinged pink, broadly campanulate-rotate; tube 0.5–0.7 mm. long; lobes ovate, 0.5–0.9 mm. long, 0.6–0.8 mm. wide, ± acute.. Styles joined for most of their length.. Fruits grey, 2.3 mm. long, 3.5–4 mm. wide, each coccus ellipsoid, 2.3 mm. long, 1.9 mm. wide (or about half these dimensions when dry), glabrous..
