Characteristics

Flower stem 250–650 mm tall, slender, brown, fleshy, shiny, nodding in bud, 5–50-flowered. Flowers tubular, pendulous, 10–12 mm long, externally dark brown and warty (sometimes greyish or whitish), internally crystalline white. Petal margins bluntly toothed. Labellum 9–10 × 4–5 mm, white, 3-lobed; lateral lobes small, angular; midlobe with wavy to crisped and lacerated margins. Callus of 3 yellow ridges that coalesce into a single ridge on midlobe, producing yellow pseudopollen. Column 9–10 × 2.5 mm.
