Plants 150-300 mm high. Corm subglobose, 5-8 mm diam.; tunics brown, brittle-membranous, imbricate, incised below into regular sections. Stem weak, inclined to trailing, simple or with 1(2) branches, sometimes with a scale-like bract in upper 1/3. Leaves usually 3(4), lower 2 basal, linear, weak and trailing, usually slightly longer than stem, 1.5-4.0 mm wide, nearly plane, margins and main vein lightly raised, upper leaf cauline, partly sheathing with short free apex. Spike inclined to horizontal, flexuose, (2-)5-to 10-flowered; bracts green below, membranous and translucent in upper half, outer 5-8 mm long, inner slightly shorter. Flowers actinomorphic, rotate, white; perianth tube funnel-shaped, ± 2.5 mm long; tepals 8-10 x ± 4 mm. Filaments suberect, unequal, two longer 4-6 mm long, shorter one 3.5-4.5 mm long; anthers ± 3 mm long, yellow; pollen yellow. Style dividing opposite apex of anthers, branches ± 5 mm long. Capsules globose, 3-5 mm long.
