Plants small, up to 50 mm high, including flowers. Corm asymmetric, ovoid with an oblique flat side extending downward as a prominent ridge, 5-7 mm diam.; tunics brown, concentric. Stem single or 2 or 3 produced from base. Leaves 3 or 4, all basal, ± 30 mm long, 1-2 mm wide, laxly twisted spirally, margins lightly thickened, the uppermost sheathing the stem below and ± straight. Spike 1(2)-flowered; bracts green to ± membranous, 12-15 mm long, pale or flushed red and spreading distally, inner slightly shorter than outer. Flowers actinomorphic, ± rotate, yellow; perianth tube funnel-shaped, ± 3 mm long; tepals ovate, 12-15 x 4-6 mm, outer wider than inner. Filaments erect, equal, 4-5 mm long; anthers ± 5 mm long, yellow; pollen yellow. Style 6-7 mm, dividing ± opposite base of anthers, branches up to 6 mm long, ± spreading to laxly recurved. Capsules globose to ovoid, 8-10 mm long.
